Our Mission
ICRA is a new initiative designed to unite leading academics and clinicians under one unified banner, to drive advancements in the fields of cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, with an initial focus on individuals with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
In alignment with this focus, ICRAs initial aim is to optimise clinical care and improve
outcomes of people living with COPD.
Our Objectives
In support of this aim, our initial objectives are to:

-
Conduct original research and quality improvement initiatives in COPD
-
Drive education of COPD and optimal COPD management among healthcare practitioners
-
Promote advocacy for patients with COPD
Our first steps towards achieving these objectives include:

-
Developing a catalogue of multimorbid COPD data standards through a Delphi exercise
-
Encouraging collection of these data variables and contribution of de-identified data to an international registry, which can later be used for ethically approved research
-
Defining centres of excellence of COPD care around the globe
