ICRA Event

Inaugural Event in 2025

ICRA held their inaugural Steering Committee meeting in June, with over 15 committee members from 12 different countries in attendance. Discussions focused on shaping the future direction of the  Alliance, and seeking Committee input on how we can continue to raise its global profile.

In-person Events at Scientific Conferences

While in Amsterdam, the Alliance held two pivotal meetings at ERS, around fulfilling ICRA’s mission to drive global collaboration, conduct research, and advance education and advocacy in the cardiopulmonary field.

 

The first session was held with our panel of Committee Members, while the second brought together an array of experts from academia, industry and research organisations. These sessions shared year-to-date highlights and covered research priorities for the coming year and how we intend to work together to achieve these.

ICRA co-chair Professor Chris Gale was invited by the Respiratory Effectiveness Group to present during the REG Summit in Q1 2026, on the Alliance, its achievements to date and the ongoing works from the group.

ESC Congress 2026

In May 2026, ICRA co-chair Professor Gale delivered an invited talk, entitled: "Smoking a shared risk factor: targeting the lungs for preventing heart failure" during the European Society of Cardiology Heart Failure Association Congress in Barcelona. ​

Upcoming Committee Events​

ERS

ICRA are due to host an in-person committee meeting for the Alliance during the European Respiratory Society (ERS) conference being held in Amsterdam in the Netherlands, on Saturday, the 27th of September. ​
