Dr. Luís Amorim Alves is a Family Doctor based in northern Portugal. He previously served on the Executive Board of the Local Health Unit Gaia–Espinho. He is an Invited Associate Professor of Family Medicine at the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of Porto, and a researcher at EPIUnit – Institute of Public Health, University of Porto. He has contributed to multiple educational initiatives as a member of the Education Subcommittee of the International Primary Care Respiratory Group (IPCRG). His main research interests include multimorbidity, COPD, and primary care system design. He is an active member of several international initiatives, including the Collaboration on Quality Improvement Initiative for Achieving Excellence in Standards of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (CONQUEST) and the International Cardiovascular and Respiratory Alliance (ICRA).
