Professor Naveed Sattar is a clinician and academic in cardiometabolic medicine at the University of Glasgow. He has many years of experience in diabetes and cardiovascular risk prevention, he has authored over 1,500 publications, accumulating more than 200,000 citations. His work has helped shape numerous national and international guidelines, including the 2023 ESC guidelines on diabetes and cardiovascular disease, and obesity management. He remains clinically active and has played roles in major cardiovascular outcome trials such as SURPASS CVOT and AMPLITUDE-O. Professor Sattar is currently an Associate Editor for Diabetes Care and formerly held editorial roles with Circulation and Diabetologia. He has been the recipient of multiple award lectures from leading organizations including Diabetes UK, EASD and the ADA.
