Riyad Al-Lehebi

Prof. Riyad Al-Lehebi is a Subspecialty Consultant in Pulmonology, Asthma, Advanced Airways Diseases, and Sleep Medicine at King Fahad Medical City, Riyadh. He serves as Chairperson of the Sleep Disorders Department and leads both the Severe Asthma Clinical Service and the Pulmonary Service Line for the Riyadh Second Cluster. In addition, he is an Adjunct Professor at Alfaisal University’s College of Medicine.Prof. Al-Lehebi’s training journey began with an MBBS from Umm Al-Qura University, followed by an Internal Medicine residency at Dalhousie University in Canada. He further specialized with a Respirology residency, as well as fellowship training in Asthma and Advanced Airways Disease and Sleep Medicine, all at the University of Toronto. Dr. Al-Lehebi holds both the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) and American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) certifications in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine. In addition, he completed an intensive, year-long research training at Harvard Medical School.


Prof. Al-Lehebi is a Core Steering Committee Member and the Saudi Site Lead for the International Severe Asthma Registry (ISAR), and he actively serves on various Saudi Ministry of Health initiatives and steering committees. His editorial roles include Associate Editor for the Annals of Thoracic Medicine and Board Member for The Saudi Clinical Trials Enterprise.


Prof. Al-Lehebi has led and contributed to multiple international multicenter studies on asthma and respiratory diseases featured in LANCET, Blue Journal, CHEST and others. He is a frequent speaker at both national and international medical conferences.
